BRUT MILLÉSIMÉ

The vintage brut is worthy of its place in the Deutz brotherhood. It is comprised of Pinot Noir (60-70%), Chardonnay (approximately a third of the composition of the vintage brut) and Pinot Meunier (5-10% depending on the year).

Tasting Notes

Beautiful light golden hue with exceptionally elegant bubbles. The pure and fresh nose is remarkably soft and delicate and opens up with elegant notes of red berries. The fruity aromas soon give way to more distinctive floral accents which reinforce the strong personality of this wine.

The palate presents a beautiful texture and good aromatic intensity. The direct attack offers an incredibly pure, mineral structure before gaining in complexity with delicate aromas of kumquat, apple, pear and freshly-baked pastries. The long, rich finish is nothing short of exemplary. The distinctive personality of the Brut Vintage 2014 leaves no doubt as to its excellent potential for ageing.

The Brut Vintage holds its own within the Deutz brotherhood thanks to its clean, direct character and exceptional elegance, characteristic of all Deutz’s wines.

 

Composition of the blend:
Pinot Noir: 62% originating from the Aÿ, Bouzy and Verzenay terroirs
Chardonnay: 33% from the Avize, Vertus and Villers Marmery terroirs
Pinot Meunier: 5% from Chamery

 

Food and wine pairing:
This vintage wine’s elegance and strength make it the ideal choice for an aperitif, but it can also be paired with a wide variety of dishes including delicately flavoured fish, sushi, a crab flan, white truffle risotto or even white meats such as veal in a creamy sauce or a poultry and lemongrass tart.

NB: For lovers of “dessert champagnes”, this champagne is also available as a Demi-Sec version with 40 grams of sugar per litre (compared to 8 grams for the Brut). This style of champagne has been somewhat overlooked in past years, but the “Demi-Sec Deutz Vintage” is sure to leave a lasting impression on those who enjoy this style. It will evolve beautifully for a further 10 to 15 years laid down in the cellar.
