WILLIAM DEUTZ

The ultimate tribute to William Deutz (founder of Champagne Deutz), this champagne is made from the best Pinots and Chardonnays. The best grapes are chosen from outstanding years. The vineyards chosen are those steeped in the finest champagne tradition. It is composed of 55 to 65% Pinot Noir – for structure, Chardonnay – for sublime notes and a touch of Pinot Meunier – for deep and generous fruitiness.

Tasting Notes

Bright, clear hue with delicate golden, almost bronze tints. Elegant and incredibly persistent bubbles. The pure and delicate nose reveals complex aromas of ripe fruit including wild peach, white cherry and plum. The floral notes are reminiscent of the scents wafting in the vineyards at harvest time, adding a magical touch to the wine.
The palate is clean and direct on entry. The wine seems to be promised eternal youth. The elegantly structured William Deutz 2009 shows grace, refinement and harmony. This is a precise and enchanting wine that develops notes reminiscent of lovely ripe yellow fruit on the palate as on the nose. After 10 years in the cellars, this noble and distinguished wine continues to surprise us with its incredible potential for evolution.

Composition of the blend:
Pinot Noir: around 65% primarily from the terroirs of Aÿ, Verzenay, Bouzy and Ambonnay.
Chardonnay: around 30% grown predominantly in the Avize terroir with a touch of Villers-Marmery.
Pinot Meunier: around 5% grown primarily in the Pierry terroir.

Food and wine pairing:
The William Deutz 2009 is the aperitif par excellence but also pairs beautifully with refined, delicately flavoured foods such as sea bass, a veal tartare or white meats cooked with spices or accompanied by mushrooms (morel for example).
It is also the perfect partner for sushi and a wide variety of Asian dishes.
