“The key to Deutz is elegance” – Fabrise Rosset (Deutz President)
Since 1993, Champagne Deutz has been setting a cracking pace crafting impeccable wines of elegant finesse under the ownership of the Rouzard family (Louis Roederer). Champagne Deutz is sourced from 245 hectares of top-quality grapes amongst the finest of Champagne Crus. Only the vin de cuvée (the first pressings – the premium juice generally reserved for champagne house’s best wines) is used for the ENTIRE selection of Champagne Deutz wines. The wines purity of fruit is preserved through fermentation in stainless steel tanks (no barrels) at a controlled temperature of 16-17 degrees Celsius. The cuvées go through a process of malolactic fermentation systematically.
Deutz wines are slowly and carefully aged in the cool hush of the 3-kilometer house cellars, which have been carved in the chalky soil of the village of Aÿ. The non-vintage wines are aged for a period of two and a half years on lees and rest for a further 6 months post-disgorgement.
